Testimonials 2008 - What they said

Last year’s show was a resounding success, but don’t take our word for it, here’s what the people who were there had to say:

Exhibitor testimonials

“This was our second year as retail partner to the London Golf Show and once again we’ve had a great show. Our store was busy throughout with a lot of keen golfers coming through and stocking up on things for the new season. It’s been a fantastic show and everyone’s really enjoyed it.”
Noreen Parker – american golf

“We had a local businessman from London came down to the show yesterday and he’s putting deposits down on 12 properties in the Bahamas worth $2m each. We’ve also had about 1,000 entrants to our competition and just over 40 solid property enquiries so it’s been a very good show.”
Chris Davies – Your Place Abroad

The London Golf Show team continues to put on first-class shows that deliver exactly what we need. It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase our product and get clubs in people’s hands. As always it’s been a great success and I’m looking forward to the next one.
Ben Davies – Cleveland

“It’s been fantastic, this is the first time we’ve been in such a big retail environment and it’s fantastic for us. We’ve hit our targets and the reaction had been very positive across the board right from high handicappers down to low handicappers. It’s great to get that feedback and get in touch with the market and get in touch with other people that are here at the show. It’s beaten our expectations not only in terms of the number of people that have actually purchased product but also the amount of people that have been on our putting green and using it. As a new company it’s great to get the brand exposure and that’s what we’re really here for.”
Alan Boyd – Daly Golf

“It’s been an overwhelming show, the response from the public has been incredible. We’ve had loads of people in, all loving the product and we’re just really happy to be at the London Golf Show.”
Clive Wood – Gel Golf

Because we’re an internet business we don’t get to meet our clients very often face to face and get a bit of interaction and feedback so that’s been really really invaluable to us as a business. We’ve had tonnes of interest and got some quality leads. We’ve got hundreds of leads that potentially will turn in to business and the London Golf Show has got to become part of the golfing calendar. Just like tour events the London Golf Show has got to be what people do every year, it’s important for the golf industry that that happens.”
Andrew Harding – Your Golf Travel.com

“The response has been absolutely fantastic, we’re really really pleased. Loads of people have been coming up to the stall and asking us about it, it’s been really really good, loads of people all day long. We’ll definitely come back in the future.”
Jonathan Ashworth – GOLFBALL3000

“It’s out first time at the London Golf Show and it’s been fantastic. We’ve been so busy all weekend just in terms of people visiting the stand and asking about Monarch and overall it’s been really good for us. We’re very pleased with the number of people that have come through. On all three days people were rushing up to us as soon as the doors opened and we’ve been really busy all the time. We’re a leisure airline and golf is a key market for us and we’ve been able to speak to exactly the sort of people we were looking for.”
Katie Williams – Monarch Airways

“It’s been absolutely phenomenal. The interest has been unbelievable, we’ve got the most expensive golf trolley in the world, it’s a totally new design and this is the first time it’s ever been shown anywhere. We didn’t expect to sell anything, we just wanted to show people the concept and see the reaction but we’ve probably sold about 15 of them at full price while we’ve been here, it’s unbelievable.”
Mark Stewart – Stewart Golf

“We were here last year with a much smaller stand and did pretty well and we’ve doubled the size of our stall this year to get some brand awareness in the industry.

We’ve more than doubled the sales we’d done last year and had a lot of positive feedback and it’s worked really well for us. I’m sure we’ll be back here next year, maybe even bigger than this time.”
Andy Davies - SubSeventy

Visitor testimonials

It’s my first visit to the show and it’s been very good. Had a look round most of the stands and enjoyed the interactive features which were really good.
Steve Tilley, 43, Edgeware, North London

The demo areas were good, there are a lot of companies and you can try gear out and the shop from american golf is really big and there’s loads of gear in there. I’ve ended up buying a wedge and it’s been a good afternoon. I’ll definitely come next year.
David Stapleton, 55, Bishops Stortford, Herts

It’s always worth coming here every year. The chances for my son to get his hands on some clubs are always brilliant here. The exhibitors are really keen to let the kids experiment and have a go with the clubs, it’s brilliant. We’ll definitely be coming back next year.
Linda Masters, 49, Sevenoaks, Kent

It’s a very good show. I like the driving bays as you can try the difference between clubs and the different technologies. It was a good day out and I think I’d come back next year.
Eddie Spinks, 50, Wokingham, Berkshire

It’s nice to enter the different competitions and just have a wander around. There have been plenty of opportunities to try out clubs which was good and my other half’s had a go on a lot of the different features, it’s been a good day out and we’d come back again.
Sue Ridenton, 42 Croydon, South East London

I thought it was very good, I’ve even had a lesson and picked up a few things which will be very useful, I’ve been here all day and I’ll be coming back next year.
Geoff Levitt, 53, Plaistow.

It’s been lovely. The European Golf Teachers Fedartion’s chipping green was good. They were giving lessons and had a good five or 10 minutes with each person. It’s a very good place to bring kids along to and a good way to get people into the game. It’s here you can come along, there’s no pressure. It’s our second visit and we’ll probably be back next year.
David Channon, 49, Romford

It’s my first visit to the show and there’s a load of variety of products on offer. The floating green was fun, I hit it twice but they bounced off! I think I’ll be coming back again next year.
Lee Purdy, 23, Chigwell

It’s been good, this is the second day we’ve come back and the third year we’ve visited. We came to have a look at the Callaway clubs and the kids love the floating green and putting and bits and pieces and there are a lot of good clothes to look at.
